The operating record matters more than the module list
When teams compare software they often count modules. A longer list feels safer. But a long list says little about whether the system understands the record your industry runs on.
The trouble with counting modules
A module list tells you what areas a product touches. It does not tell you how those areas connect, which record they share or whether an exception in one area is visible in another. Two systems with the same list can behave very differently once real work flows through them.
A better question
Ask: what is the one record that, if it were always accurate, would remove most of our disputes, delays and write-offs? The answer differs by industry:
- Project delivery: the work package, its schedule and its progress records.
- Manufacturing: the job, batch, work package and material records.
- Scaffolding: the scaffold object, with location, type, tag, status, days, area, crew and material links.
- Distribution and FMCG trade: the order, the stock position and the financial outcome.
- Medical devices: the device record with serial or lot history, installation and service status.
- Cricket-board operations: board, venue, project and tournament records under shared governance.
What this means for evaluation
When you evaluate a system, walk one real case through it from the first request to closure. Watch whether the record stays intact, whether approvals reach the right person and whether the evidence is attached automatically. A short demonstration on your own workflow tells you more than any feature matrix.
Why Kramvyu builds by industry
Because each industry has its own anchor record, Kramvyu builds a separate product for each. EPCOS, MFGOS, ScaffoldOS, DistroOS, FMCGOS, MEDIXOS and CricketOS share a disciplined way of working, but each is shaped around its own record, vocabulary and customers.
