Cricket-board operations: one command centre across venues, projects and tournaments

A cricket board is part administrator, part property owner, part project client and part event organiser. Each role generates records, and the board needs to see them together.

Four kinds of work, one organisation

Board offices handle finance, procurement, vendors, contracts, documents and people. Venues need assets, maintenance, inspections and facilities. Capital works need estimates, BOQs, quality checks and billing. Tournaments bring together venues, suppliers, workforce, equipment and budgets for a short, intense period.

When each of these runs in its own spreadsheets and folders, the board sees the whole only after someone assembles it. CricketOS is described as one operating layer in which every operational event can carry its owner, evidence, approval and financial context.

Focused modules for focused work

CricketOS is organised into Board, Venue, Project and Tournament modules, each with its own focus, plus a command centre and a governance module.

  • Board: finance, procurement, vendors, contracts, documents, people, approvals and dashboards.
  • Venue: assets, maintenance, inspections, inventory, facilities, work orders and records.
  • Project: estimate, WBS, BOQ, procurement, material, quality, measurement, billing, retention and claims.
  • Tournament: venues, suppliers, workforce, equipment, logistics, budget, readiness and documents.

What a command centre is for

A command centre is not another dashboard to decorate. Its purpose is to bring together commitments, exceptions, readiness, contracts, inspections and management reporting so that leaders can see what needs a decision. It reads from the records created by the other modules rather than from a separate set of figures.

Governance that follows the work

Boards answer to members, auditors and the public. That makes roles, visibility, action permissions, approval limits and an audit trail central. Governance in this sense is not a report written at year end. It is a set of rules applied as each action takes place.

  • Roles decide who can see and who can act.
  • Approval limits send larger commitments to the right level.
  • The audit trail keeps who did what, when and with what evidence.

Three situations that show the value

Stadium renovation

A capital project needs BOQ, procurement, material, quality, measurement and contractor billing under control, including retention and claims.

Venue maintenance

A maintenance request becomes a work order linked to the asset, the vendor, the material used, the inspection and the closure, with the cost attached.

Tournament readiness

Checklists, suppliers, workforce, equipment and budget are tracked against readiness for each venue, so gaps are visible early.

Working with vendors and assets

Boards deal with many vendors, from construction contractors to equipment suppliers, and with assets that range from floodlights to pitch equipment. Keeping vendors, contracts and assets on the same governed record means a payment can be traced to a contract, a contract to a work order and a work order to an asset. When a question arises about spend, the answer can be read from the record instead of assembled from several departments.

Starting point

A board does not have to begin with everything. Choosing one area, such as venue maintenance or a single capital project, and setting its approvals and evidence gives an early view of how a shared record changes the conversation.
